Hippo Size Beverages Jumbo Root Beer

I found Hippo Size Beverages Jumbo  Root Beer on a recent trip to Soda Pop Central in Whitby, ON.  This root beer is brought to you by the folks at Orca Beverage Soda Works in Mukilteo, WA.

Cool label. It reads "Small bottle. BIG taste" which is pretty accurate in my opinion.  The flavor profile is built using natural and artificial flavors.  Included in the flavors is extract of wintergreen which is a nice touch.  It is sweetened with cane sugar and is nicely balanced with the flavor.  It has a decent bite to it as well.

This root beer has a pretty decent head to it when you pour it.   The flavor profile is built using natural and artificial flavors.  It is sweetened with sugar and the balance between sweet and spice is pretty good.  I found it to be a very creamy style root beer which I'm quite fond of.

Espresso Root Beer

Espresso Root Beer is yet another brew that I received in trade through Brad. This root beer is brought to you by the folks over at Northwoods Soda in Williamsburg, MI.

If you are a coffee and a root beer lover, you will enjoy this one.  Unfortunately, I'm not a coffee fan.  The flavor profile for this one is built using various coffees, chocolate and vanilla notes.  To me, it tastes like coffee and sugar.  I'm not going to rate this one because I'd be biased.

Yacht Club Root Beer

Yacht Club Root Beer is yet another brew that I received in trade through Brad. This root beer is brought to you by the folks over at Yacht Club Bottling Works in Centredale, RI.

I wasn't overly impressed with this root beer.  When I read "Carbonated Natural Artesian Water" as the first ingredient, it raised my eyebrows.  The flavor profile is built using "Natural and Artificial Root Beer Flavor".  It is also sweetened with pure cane sugar.  As much as it boasts all this mumbo jumbo, I just found this root beer to be subpar.  The bite is there but something is just lacking about this root beer. I found it to be quite boring actually.

Joe's Root Beer

Joe's Root Beer is yet another brew that I received in trade through Brad. This root beer is brought to you by the folks over at Joseph James Brewing Company in Henderson, NV.

This root beer's flavor profile is built using natural flavors including honey and vanilla.  It has a good balance between the sweet and the spice.  The head is pretty tall when you pour it but it dissipates quickly.  I heard a lot about this one through various folks and was thankful to finally get the opportunity to try it.   Overall, it was a really good brew. It did not make my all time favorites however.

Crooked Oak Root Beer

I found Crooked Oak Root Beer on a recent trip to Soda Pop Central in Whitby, ON.  This root beer is brought to you by the folks at Crooked Oak Soda.

There is a lot going on with this root beer.  The flavor profile is built using natural flavors.  It is sweetened with sugar. The balance of sweetness and spice is pretty good.  I just found that there was a bit of a strange aftertaste after every sip.  It wasn't a horrible aftertaste, but it just kind of lingered on the palette for a while.  There was no head at all when I poured this one.  It had a pretty good bite to it.

Boston Tower Root Beer

I bought Boston Tower Root Beer on a recent trip to Soda Pop Central in Whitby, ON.  This root beer is brought to you by the folks at Prospect Hill Beverages in North Reading, MA.

I found that the head on this root beer disappears faster than you can finish pouring the bottle.  No big deal. How was the flavor?  It was okay.  The ingredient list says natural and/or artificial flavor extracts.  It has some good bite to it.  It is also sweetened with cane sugar. Did it taste like an old fashioned root beer? Yeah, I guess so. It was pretty good. Above average for sure but it wasn't a favorite of mine.

Kickapoo Rail Trail Root Beer

Kickapoo Rail Trail Root Beer is yet another brew that I received in trade through Brad.  I don't have a lot of info on this root beer but it appears that this one was created by the folks trying to raise money for the Kickapoo Rail Trail (obviously).

The root beer has a delicious flavor profile.  The balance between the sweetness and flavor is very good.  The head is not withstanding though but no biggie.  I liked the bite in the fact that it was not overpowering but gave a good kick to every sip.  I really enjoyed this one.

Homer Soda's Maple Syrup Root Beer

Homer Soda's Maple Syrup Root Beer is yet another brew that I received in trade through Brad. This root beer is brought to you by the folks over at Homer Soda Company in Homer, IL.

This is another root beer that utilizes the fine ingredient of maple in it's recipe.  I found the head to be lacking when I poured it into my favorite mug, but that didn't stop me from enjoying the delicious maple aroma that it exuded!  Wow! The flavor profile boasts maple and what appears to be vanilla.  It might be a bit sweet for some, but I found the balance just perfect.  The bite might be lacking a bit for some, but again for myself, it was fine.  I'm craving more as I type.  Maybe I'm biased since we Canadians love our maple syrup... :)   Great job Homer Soda!  I will be chasing down more of this one in the future.

I found this root beer to have a very short head that doesn't last long at all.  The flavor profile is built using natural and artificial flavorings.  It is also sweetened with pure cane sugar.  I found this one to be really sweet but it had an okay bite to it.  Overall, it was an above average brew to enjoy.

This root beer sports a decent sized head when you pour it but it dissipates quickly.  It is sweetened with pure cane sugar.  The flavor profile is built using artificial and natural flavorings (I tasted a lot of vanilla which made it very creamy).  The bite is pretty aggressive but not overpowering.  I really enjoyed this one.  Good job DBW...

Lil' Brewster Root Beer

Lil' Brewster Root Beer is yet another brew that I received in trade through Brad. This root beer is brought to you by the folks over at Pismo Brewing Company in Pismo Beach, CA.

This root beer sports a decently sized head when you pour it.  It is thick and doesn't dissipate as quick which I really like.  It is sweetened with cane sugar and the flavor profile is built using natural flavorings. It has a real strong vanilla kick to it and the bite is pretty hard too.  I really enjoyed this one.

Ramblin' Root Beer

Ramblin' Root Beer is yet another brew that I received in trade through Brad. This root beer is brought to you by the folks over at Ramblin Root Beer and distributed by Monarch Beverages.

I was surprised at the tall but airy head this root beer produces. The flavor profile is developed through natural and artificial ingredients.  It is sweetened with sugar and is not overly sweet.  The bite I found to be average.  I found this root beer to be okay but it didn't win me over completely.

Soda Folk Root Beer

Soda Folk Root Beer is yet another brew that I received in trade through Brad. This root beer is brought to you by the folks over at Soda Folk in Colorado.

This root beer has a nice creamy thick head to it. It's not too tall but it does last!  Here is another root beer that includes maple syrup along with the pure cane sugar as its sweetener.  The addition of pure vanilla extract amongst the other interesting flavorings (I'm tasting wintergreen perhaps) makes this brew quite a tasty treat!  The bite also has a nice kick to it.  Good job Soda Folk!
